Debevoise’s STAAR AI Platform Wins Financial Times Innovation Award

We are very proud to announce that on December 8, 2025, Debevoise won the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America Award for Innovation in New Legal Products. The Award was given to Debevoise for our Suite of Tools for Assessing AI Risk (STAAR), an AI-powered subscription platform that helps clients fast-track their responsible AI adoption.

Developed by our Data Strategy & Security group, STAAR brings together the firm’s market-leading AI legal, regulatory, and governance expertise into a single, technology-enabled platform. STAAR contains continuously updated and benchmarked AI legal resources, including policies, training materials, governance lessons, regulatory trackers, and detailed descriptions of common AI use cases. The platform reflects the firm’s commitment to developing forward-looking solutions that meet clients where they are on their stage of AI adoption and support them in building responsible and sustainable AI programs.

Debevoise is launching an updated STAAR 2.0 on the Legora Portal platform in January.

Debevoise has previously won an FT Innovation Award in the Digitizing Legal Services category for our cybersecurity Data Portal.
